How should modalities be compared?
Compare what the modality can depict, whether it uses ionizing radiation, how long acquisition may take, what limitations apply, and which clinical question the ordering team needs to answer.

How does remote interpretation change the exam?
Remote interpretation changes where the radiologist reads, not how the facility acquires the study or how the ordering clinician remains responsible for the patient’s care.
The handoff adds technical requirements: a complete study, correct identifiers within the protected clinical system, relevant context, prior access when authorized, and a tested return path for the report.

Which modality is best?
There is no universal best modality. The ordering clinician selects the study for the individual clinical question.
Which modalities use radiation?
CT, X-ray, mammography, and nuclear medicine use ionizing radiation in different ways. MRI does not; it uses a strong static magnetic field and radiofrequency energy, which is why the performing facility screens for implants and devices. Ultrasound uses sound waves.
Can the table replace medical advice?
No. It is an educational comparison and cannot account for an individual’s history, safety factors, or clinical need.
Does DLA Imaging perform the scan?
This site describes remote interpretation. Acquisition is performed by the facility operating the imaging equipment.
